Asia’s most popular idol group UNIQ’s latest New Year single “Happy New Year 2017” has officially released its MV on Jan 19. This time, UNIQ bid farewell to their high-end dazzling yet cool fashion style, and boldly tried a warm and fresh new vibes of youths who are chasing their dreams. Spring has come! The sweetness of 2017 will increase again! During this cold winter, with music that warms the hearts of each UNICORNs, with music that accompanies UNICORNs in welcoming the new year.

In year 2016, UNIQ made much profits, with members who achieved great results in their various fields such as movies, variety, MC-ing and endorsements. Entering into 2017, UNIQ did not forget their original intentions towards music and have made a stage comeback by releasing their brand new New Year single “Happy New Year 2017”, voice which hadn’t been heard for a long time has increased the touching of hearts.

In year 2016, UNIQ’s “Happy New Year” has swept through the streets and became the most brainwashed New Year party song. This time, “Happy New Year 2017” has continued on its brisk melody style and upgraded its version of unforgettable toxic melody. It’s Chinese lyrics is written by Leader Zhou Yixuan himself, with its full positive energy that could make each listener drive through the haze, just like the lyrics which was sung “being lost and powerless will eventually pass”, “deep breaths in meeting new opportunities”, etc. In order to set off sweeter atmosphere to the New Year, the single was also carefully arranged to a rhythmic dance, where you can sway along with the music while listening to it.

In the MV, the members of UNIQ were preparing for the New Year party at home. The boys were playing around, creating a warm atmostphere. Whereas the relay scenes in the MV showed the bond between UNIQ members who wish to grow together, together towards the peak of their determination. Other than that, the members also attempted to form a band for the first time in the MV, where snow flies while singing “Happy New Year 2017”. This made New Year reached its peak of its atmosphere. 

It was the coldest in Beijing during that day of filming the music video, where the temperature reached -10°. The members went to the suburbs at 6AM for studio shooting, Li Wenhan had to finish filming his drama all night long and rushed straight to the filming set and hadn’t got the time to rest and went into shooting nervously. With two consecutive transitions with more than 10 hours of filming and the addition of the cold weather at the set that made them exhausted, yet they take it seriously and monitor each of their filming until they were 100% satisfied. Their professionalism has received praised from all the staffs who were present.

After debuting for 2 years, UNIQ has always been working hard and never slack, the people whom they thanked the most through this journey is of course their fans, UNICORNs who have been always by their side. Just like the lyrics “Hand in hand, no more sufferings any longer”. This song “Happy New Year 2017” is a New Year gift from UNIQ to UNICORNs, it is also a promise between UNIQ and UNICORNs, to celebrate each upcoming New Year together. 

Ever since UNIQ made their debut they have released various music and received various world-class awards as well as receiving much love and vigorous support from fans all over the world. Moreover, UNIQ has entered film and television, variety and other types of fields. Not only showcasing their value to the audience, singing talents, acting, variety and many others. UNIQ has also participated in “Journey to the West 3”, “MBA Partners” and other popular films; starring also in “Love Actually”, “Hot Blood Academy”, “Female President” and other dramas, filming the Korean version of “I’m Going To School”, “Day Day Up”, “Let’s Go”, “Flower Gods” and other variety shows and have received much compliments.
