[TRANS/ARTICLE] 170626 UNIQ Sungjoo “Living Up To One’s Name” Visual Doctor Casting “Laying the foundation of his position as an actor”

Boy group UNIQ Sungjoo has been confirmed for the casting of tvN’s new weekend drama “Living Up To One’s Name”.

The new tvN weekend drama “Living Up To One’s Name” (directed by Hong Jong-chan / playwright Kim Eun-hee) will be released in August following by current drama “Forest of Secrets”. This fantasy medical drama explores a 17th century Joseon medical practitioner who travels through time to the 21st century and encounters a modern-day doctor. The news of Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong becoming leads of the upcoming drama has been announced and it is expected to be the most attention-grabbing work of the second half of 2017.

Among them, Sungjoo was casted as Kim Min-jae who is a 2nd year resident surgeon. Sungjoo is a visual doctor who suits best in a white gown and appears as a colleague of Kim Ah Joong. It has been focused on whether he will become a new protagonist of this medical drama. 

Sungjoo has appeared on tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “The Liar and His Lover” last May and has boosted a perfect 100% synchronisation rate as Yoo Sihyun in the drama. He has proven time and again that he is a prepared actor at all time which includes visuals, performances and acting. He was also praised the birth of a new male actor in his twenties.

Besides that, Yuehua Korea Entertainment expressed, “Thank you for casting in the various drama projects after the actor’s first acting debut with “The Liar and His Lover”. If “The Liar and His Lover” is how you got to know Kim Sungjoo as the new actor, then this will be the time where he will solidify his position as an actor in his 20’s for “Living Up To One’s Name”.
